Las Vegas, NV (February 20, 2025) – Rio Las Vegas, a Destination by Hyatt hotel, announced today that it has joined the Hyatt Convention Alliance (HCA) for the Las Vegas market. With this latest addition, the Hyatt Convention Alliance now offers 11 premier properties across 10 key markets in the U.S., further enhancing the hotels’ abilities to deliver world-class meeting and event experiences.
Following the completion of the resort’s first phase of its $340 million property wide transformation, Rio Las Vegas joined the Destination by Hyatt brand in 2024 and brings a significant boost in meeting and event options to the HCA. It also reinforces Hyatt Convention Alliance’s commitment to providing meeting planners with seamless planning experience across top-tier venues in high-demand markets.
Laurae Clifford, Executive Director of Group Sales at Rio Las Vegas, expressed excitement about joining the HCA, stating, “With Las Vegas being the top destination for meetings and conventions, Rio Las Vegas provides a strong foothold in a globally recognized hub for large-scale gatherings with our vibrant hotel and casino located one block from the famed Las Vegas Strip. To top it off, you can earn both planner and attendee loyalty points with World of Hyatt when staying with us. We are thrilled to bring our extensive accommodations and event spaces to the Hyatt Convention Alliance, offering event planners more flexibility and convenience in a dynamic market.”
A key benefit of adding Rio to the Hyatt Convention Alliance is the increased flexibility it provides for event planners. Previously, Hyatt Convention Alliance properties ranged in size from 1,003 to 2,032 rooms. With Rio Las Vegas’ 2,520 rooms and 220,000 square feet of meeting and event space, the Hyatt Convention Alliance now facilitates even greater options, so that it can seek to accommodate groups of all sizes and more complex event requirements. With its extensive facilities and renowned hospitality, Rio enhances the Hyatt Convention Alliance’s ability to cater to a broader range of event needs, from corporate meetings to large-scale conventions.
Clients will benefit from its commitment to streamlining event planning by providing consistent service standards, dedicated support teams, and seamless access to a portfolio of premium venues. Rio Las Vegas’ extensive meeting spaces and convenient location within 1 block of the Las Vegas Strip cater to the growing demand for large-scale conventions and corporate events, making it a valuable addition.
Jacqueline Kennedy, Director of Business Development, Hyatt Convention Alliance, emphasized the significance of this enhancement, stating, “The addition of Rio Las Vegas to Hyatt Convention Alliance offers an outstanding option in the high-demand Las Vegas market, which invites our customers to experience a new destination and hotel with unique offerings when rotating their meetings to the west coast.”
Collaboration between Rio Las Vegas and the 10 additional Hyatt Convention Alliance properties, includes Grand Hyatt San Diego, Grand Hyatt San Antonio, Hyatt Regency Atlanta, Hyatt Regency Chicago,
Hyatt Regency Dallas, Hyatt Regency Denver, Hyatt Regency New Orleans, Hyatt Regency Orlando, Hyatt Regency O’Hare Chicago and Hyatt Regency Seattle aims to allow for the attraction of larger, rotational events and the ability to leverage shared resources, creating more opportunities for clients to plan comprehensive, multi-year experiences with ease.
